I had a question posed to me the other day that I simply must ask you all. Why do I allow the pagan symbols of the Christmas Tree and wreaths to be in my home?
My question to you is this: do you feel pagan when you hang a wreath or do you feel convicted by the Holy Spirit when you decorate the tree in your house? I would love to hear what you have to say about the matter. It is bothering me, not in a conviction sort of way, but am I participating in something evil and don't even know it? Or is this just another attempt by Satan to side track me?
Let me know.

Buddy, If it is done to celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ it is ok and is not paganism but if it is done for show or commercialism I would consider it to be paganism.

I think that it's just become tradition. In the US as a general rule I believe it is meant to symbolize Christ but Christmas has become so commercialized for me. I do it to symbolize Christ and try to maintain focus on what the season is truly about. The history changing event of God coming to us.
ReplyDeleteI don't know, but I hope you find a definitive answer because I have been struggling with this for several years. I have always believed that since I don't worship any of these pagan symbols, that I am just enjoying the tradition, but sometimes I just don't know if this is splitting hairs or just an easy answer for something I don't really want to face.
